This is my smash it book, I started this book as a

distraction/record for my self when i stoped smoking

8 days ago, but I'm not counting haha.
I have made my self some promises this year and

i am going to keep them.... no buts....no what if......no

excuses at all. I have to say these smash books could

be used for many things,but i like the idea of it being

portable.If your doing one your self i would love to see it.

I have decided to have a go with Becky Higgins

PL kit,it was so exciting opening the box.Now

I need to do the opening page and get some photos

Printed.Looking forward to getting started,this

should help me keep up with all my photos and memories

i wont to keep and give me time to create other things as well.

I will still be doing my 12 x 12 layouts as that is what i really

love to do,the glue/cutting/embellishing is a need for

me i love to get messy.Hope to load updates on a

The DT at Artfullcrafts have been putting up some

They are also running a Christmas challenge, which

i decided to join in with.The first one was to make

a simple Christmas card...... Not being much of a

card maker i thought "simple" yep i can do that hehe

So above is my card,i used 2 pages out of a 6x6 pad

and a couple of punches ,i actually had fun doing this

My entry for Alter it monthly

My sister lost her beloved cat and wonted a very special place

to keep him close to her,i had seen something like this in a shop

so decided to have a go at making her one.

Firstly i painted the box with acrylic black paint ,then using stamps

i stamped using versamark ink then embossed it with gold in the pattern

i desired,my theme was ancient Egypt as her cat looked just like this one

but he was cream.

The inside was black,and the inside of the top i embossed a symbol,

(which means ever lasting life)

I got a cat tag with his name on it and placed it in the circle.

i added a small amount of blue around the bottom of the box to match the cat and

to pull it all together .I attached the cat with 3m glue.

I made this and filled it with nice oils and

candles,I have been doing some altered art

things lately,so will post them once I'm finished.

Saturday i did make and takes for the lovely girls

from Scrap ware,The table was busy all day and

every one loved scrap wares stuff,you can see

there both in the back ground.These ladies kindly

let me take a photo of them having fun at the make

and take and loved there flowers.

I finally got to meet The lovely Brenda from Nelson,

We had to have a quick photo before she left.

I really had fun and did a little shopping on the Sunday,

which was much needed as my scrap room is still boxed up,

but that's next weekends job :)

I like to use a black background when photographing

my layouts,my puddy cat decided this was just the

best thing to play with lol so took a while to get started

I had these photos that i wonted to scrap but just

found them a little dull,so made a pretty boarder

to bring them to life

(prima licious) love the colours we used in this

These were taken when we went to dinner for

Keri's birthday (my sons partner)

The title is "GOT YA" because its hard to get

a photo of Tony as he always either turns away

or puts something up in front of him,we even got

smiling lol

This is what we get!!! so i have put this photo on

the back of the journaling card you seeing peeking

out which was the packaging for the flowers

This was also one of Nics classes (glimmer glam)

We played with all the lovely tattered angels products

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the stuff i did,

the other class work isn't finished as yet,but i will

do that and put them up at a later date

Autumn Retreat 2011

The view from our room I had the best weekend iv had for a very long time. The classes were great,the venue Divine,in the photo above there is a large warm swimming pool and deck lots of lovely walks through the park like grounds. We ate to much scraped lots and just had a fabulous time. Cherie and i were roomies for the weekend and we had lots of laughs,just looking through the photos lol hmm some i think might have to stay for our eyes only be back soon to update the blog

Its that time again. This month at Birds of a feather

the challenge is to use more than one font style and colour,

also add a little distressing to our layout,i have used ink

on the torn edges and bubble wrap painted with light blue

To day i had 2 delivery's,these lovely bottles come

all the way from Sharon in Balclutha,they look great This box was put together by Lynda and her two children,Katelyn and Max from Napier,they did a smashing job decorating them. Brenda has kindly collected some from Kay and Vicky and is sending them up with all hers,you ladies rock This is a box i was packing up last night, i sent 2 more lots off to day, to the sellys in chch,So far i have sent of 41 bottles and thats not counting the ones that arrived today.They have come from all over the place,it really gives me faith in the human race to see that people care about other people still. My Mum always told me "giveing is so much better than reciveing"

A wonderful gift

Sonia sent this bottle to me when she sent

up the ones for the chch bottle drive,I decided

to open it once i had filled all the bottles i had

for the kids.....Well it took a little longer than i thought

to do that lol,but today i sat down and enjoyed

pealing of the layers,it was so much fun just opening it.

There was a lovely note attached

and the nicest poem on the bottle

with,i have no idea how she fit it

all in there,also some sweet treats,

and check out the frog stamp,awesome,

i love frogs :)

Then i saw this cute little parcel,all wrapped

and tied with a bow,another surprise!

WOW this is gorgeous,I was felling a little

disappointed that i couldn't go to Kay's craft weekend

but I'm felling pretty happy now :_)

6x6 Boys Album

I love this paper for boys,I found the boy album

much easier because i used my own style more (messy)

I have left some pages very plain so they can decorate

them selves,so i have put in the left over papers for this .

Also some pages look like they are a different colour,they

arnt,it just i have a new camera and was playing around

a little lol

This was made to give to at risk kids in chch

Scrapin patch put out a call for people to make

these and send down.I found it really hard not

to add alot of stuff lol but i got there,i am doing

one for a boy as well,so think that will be easier

now i have done one.I went all out with pink as

i don't get to do girly things to often.It just

has to be bound now and its all ready for them

to add there photos and journaling.

CHCH Bottle Drive 14-3 update

Today i received 2 big box's of treasures,I was amazed

at how much was in this one lol .Karen from Inkspiration

In Invercargil,sent out a news letter to all her wonderful

crafters,this is what was left at her shop which she sent

up to me.A HUGE thank you,i am hoping we will

Get a little feed back from some one as to how our bottles

were distributed and maybe if we are very lucky a

few photos of happy smiling kids

Specking of kids, Megan Kapma from Better Scrapbooking

sent this lot of bottles below,which kids had helped to make or

made them selves,they even have a lovely label on them,

and theres still loads in the box,you are all so generous

Hows every one doing with there bottles? The ones i have

look fabulous thank you.If i haven't supplied my address

After chatting with the lovely Brenda from Nelson, I looked into finding an appropriate person for those of you

in the south island to send your bottles to,which would

save you a heap on postage or freight,especially if you have

made a few,Her name is Ashleigh,she was one the the comfort

crusaders,If you prefer to send to Ashleigh just let me know

and i will send her address to you.

UPDATE 8-MARCH

Thanks New Zealand couriers for covering

the freight cost to send our bottles to

Christchurch

To day when i got home there was a big parcel

waiting for me...YES....BOTTLES..yayyyy

These 4 were done by Sonia,iv put them up as

she has printed of a cute poem and stuck

it to each bottle,what a neat idea,I know she

wont mind if i use the same idea with a different

poem,its a good way of hiding the join to

I thought i would put up a few photos of what

i have received so far
If your making a bottle or sending items
this might help with ideas

I can break up packets and mix the different items
in each bottle.I have a couple of lovely friends
Cherie and Ann who i have asked to help me put
all the fabulous goodies that need packing
into bottles. You are all just so awesome for helping
thank you all so very much.

A couple of tips that have been passed on to me
: Get the bottles nice and dry by putting in the hot water cupboard
: Chocolate tends to melt,use sealed packets for sweets

If you would like to help give a child in Christchurch a little distraction,you could join us in marking a bottle filled with goodies like small colouring in book and pens/games/spinning tops a few sweets that kind of thing.I have a link to show you how to make one,its very very easy
check it out here its called ( plastic gift bottle tutorial) the best size bottle is either a 750ml or a 1 ltr drink bottle,if you would rather send the goodies to me, i will put them in a bottle for you.Try to make it generic if possible but if not mark it Boy or girl.

Also please put your name and address or e-mail with your goodies. so i know where they come from if i need to get in touch.

I will pass these on to either the salvation army or red cross.There must be some very frightened kids down there,they look to the adults for safety,and many of them are frightened and confused right now.

Just a quick update,i have had contact from a few people offering to make a bottle
or 2 or 4 even, Thank you so very much,these will arrive as they are finished,I grabbed
a few more things today and thought i would share in case your wonting ideas.
I got small laser lights with a bright light as well, the type you put on a key ring,
also a few small torches and batteries,small game boards (eg snakes and ladders)
that fit in the bottles.
Play fish and snap cards,little girls hair clips and necklaces,sets of small
cars and trucks which i will break up and some small soft balls.I'm getting a
good collection of things now.Tomorrow i will ring coca cola and see if i can
get a few empty 1.5 ltr bottles,i cant drink that fast lol.

I brought this kit set clock some time ago and

really wonted to get it done,this also doubles

as a display stand for my ATC cards,the ATC

can be changed as it just sits on the easel.

Auckland anniversary weekend

We get a long weekend,Monday is

Auckland's anniversary yay no work.

So Hubby and i drove to my sisters

at port waikato,we collected mum

on the way.

It was a beautiful day,warm and sunny

and just a gentle warm breeze,so we

went for a walk along the beach. The

beach is a little wild but has all these

neat rock polls and holes in the rocks

We had hot roast chicken rolls for lunch
and brandy snaps and waffles with cream
for afters yummmyyy lol

Mum decided she didnt wont to
be photographed lol

This is Maumau,hes a sierex cat
which means he has no fur,hes covered
with a silky feel like a shammy cloth,hes
my sisters baby as she lives alone,hes
great entertainment that's for sure lol.

We had a great day out,my sis always
makes me laugh shes such a scream.

at this,it was heaps of fun,I'm going to

I'm feeling a little lost.My son went on a 4 day fishing trip and wonted to us my camera,

One of the things i love most about scrap booking

is the wonderful people you meet,online

at all until i saw one used on a layout by

Lynne,after hunting around for one

the same and coming up empty,i contacted her to

ask where she found hers.She offered to get one for

me and send it up to me,how fantastic is that.So id

Happy Birthday to my lovely mum

who turned 80 on the 24-10-10

she got a little teary eyed here.It was

a big day for her,we had uncles,aunts

and great grand children

There were lots of photos to reminisce over and

lots more taken,these are just a couple of snap shots
I have loads more on my cannon as it takes a much

better photo.We had 4 generations at lunch and

mum just LOVED it

She had a fantastic day,this is my hubby

and sons with me and mum,she thinks

my hubby is the best

I did this layout using a sketch from " the little shop of sketches " Iv been lacking enthusiasm since the scrapbook shop that i used to go to closed,i think i am missing
all my scrappy friends and the inspiration that i got from them when i went up every Thursdays ..... SO i decided to buy a few new things lol yes that really does help the mojo, and went searching for a challenge,i don't usually use sketches but they defiantly help get you going when your craftiness deserts you. I also joined the DT for southern girls challenges, which is brand spanking new.

Any way i have a challenge for all you scrapbookers and of the page ers lol is that a word!! Over at southern girls we have had lots of fabulous card makers but not that many scrappers/ofthepagers......so to even up things a little i am going to give away a pack of scrumptious goodies to one lucky person . Well its taking me ages to sort out my room

but here's where i have got to so far
I have sorted this lot papers,flowers,
embellishments and boxed up all my Christmas bits
together and all my masks and templates together.
Some of these iv been looking for since we moved lol

I now have a nice clear space for the cuttle bug and
an area to paint and let things dry..yay

Still have to sort out things like stamps etc so they
are easy to find and access.

I know its not spring yep BUT!!

My scrap area is in dire need of a good sort out

and tidy up,the flowers above were all

mixed up together,now look how pretty they

look and so easy for me to find.

Not sure how much is treasure and how much

There is only one good thing about starting work

at 6am,and that's sights like this.I have a large

bay window in the kitchen,and when i got up to make

my coffee on Wednesday,this is the view i had,my

whole kitchen had this amazing pink tinge to it

And this photo was taken with livys camera,which

is WAY better than mine,i love how the water droplets

have been captured.I would really love a decent camera

Maybe Santa might bring me one if I'm very very very

good lol,it makes such a difference.Anyway just thought

Yes the Lun av shop is closing, I have been apart of scrapbooking by design/scrapbook studio since November 2006,its been my home away from home,pretty sad about it going,the first thing i do when i get home is make a coffee,sit down and check my e-mails and there it was in black and white.I have made some wonderful friends and meet some very clever people at the shop.I will miss my Thursday night visits for sure.
Just wont to say thanks for all the fun girls.

Now this style i enjoy,lots of ink ,this layout

use of splattering ink to,lots of FUN

Elizabeth Kartcher......I found is hard not to dirty

up my layout lol her style is very clean,lots of nice

clean lines,although i do like the nice fresh look i created

The challenge for August...... is to create an ATC folder to hold your cards,atc swaps

are heaps of fun and iv collected a few now,i love receiving my swaps back,its so

amazing to see all the cool ideas up close,i use my cards for inspiration when

i wont to do something a little different,or use a new technique.I am giving away

Baby photos need colour and i needed the practise lol

I noticed she uses lots of swirls and flowers and BRIGHT

colours,hambly is another thing she uses often.Her embellishments

are also often cut out of papers.So that's what i started with.

Well im felling much better after a nice sleepin today,the last 2 weeks have been crazy at work and i keep getting headaches for some reason.Any way today was MY day,i sleeped in then went of to harveynormans to print of some photos,which iv been trying to doo for ages,then went to spot light and got supplies for my hand made flowers,next stop scrapbook studio to collect a kit and have a chat with Lisa,stoped of at the mad butcher for doggie food then home.
Iv sorted my flowers out,just have to put them together now,this takes a while as i have to wait for glue to dry.And my layout for the July challenge is all done and waiting to be photographed tomorrow or today as its nearly 1 am lol,I'm pretty pleased with how it came out,i put extra effort into this as its going to a new home after the challenge...... ;)

DT June layout

This was made using my June,DT kit from Scrapbook studio.

The background paper is pink paislee starlight,I used a crafters workshop template down the right hand side, using some paint to get that cool pattern,i painted the circle with the same paint and added a few dew drops.behind the photos i used a strip of bazzill called trellis sugar cookie,i used Tim Holt's marmalade distress ink to make it look orange and bring out the embossing.The little fence in between the photos was cut out on the circuit machine as was the scroll under the bottom photo,i used the cuttle bug for all the cute words,then cut them out and distressed them with Tim's marmalade ink just a little to show the words.

The title was made using Pinkpaislee starlight alphabet stickers,added a few buttons and tucked a journaling card under the right hand side of the photos.

name to the list We then chose a date to send them of to sue,who will send us one of each back.
Now theres some very clever ladies making flowers so we will get some great ideas for making
more hand made items for our craftiness lol .They can be as simple or as intricate as you like.
Some ideas: you can use:
paper......fabrice.....felt.....plastic.....pucnches,anything your heart desires,if like me you haven't tried to
make flowers,just use our good friend Google lol that's what im doing,i cant believe how many different ideas there are out there!!

awards night

Well i survived the night lol i didn't fall of my heels,We had a fun night,lots of glam and i got to catch up with some of my old friends from the print industry,which was really neat.Our company (Permark ind) did extremely well in the medal department,5 golds and i think 6 or 7 highly recommend, i lost count....go us lol. So today was recovery day,got up late,felling a little worse for wear so went back to bed and had another nap.I had my hair done for the occasion,and they put very fine glitter in it,so when i woke up my pillow looked like i had kindy glitz it hehe.
Any how,no scraping done today,and now i need to do some house work..ekk.
I have my DT kit here already to go so hopefully tomorrow i will get a start on this.

HEHEHEHE I'm evil arnt i Heidie lol well my news is, i have been asked to join the scrapbook studio design team,i was on it for 1 term but had to give it up as my life was a little out of control,
so now im all sorted and settled iv been given the opportunity to join the talented ladies again.

Hope every ones having a nice long weekend,even though its been windy and rainy I'm happy because i don't have to get up for work lol.

I have found it almost imposable to take a decent photo of my layout,just to over cast at the moment.I`v been having a play with some ideas for the ATC swap "DOORS" this subject intrigued me so i just had to join in.

I will have some news to shear with you soon,but not just yet lol I'm a tease arnt i hehe

I Originally did this layout to submit to up2scrap,but got my days mixed up so missed the deadline, But that's ok have another photo scraped now lol,I'm not to good at deadlines at the best of times.
I painted the chipboard titles,then stamped and embossed them with gold to fit with the colour scheme.
I look at these photos now and wish i had been scrap booking along time ago,they bring back the fun times we had with the boys when they were little.

Heritage with Nickie

Isn't this just a "OH SO CUTE" layout, this was a class up at scrapbook studio that Nickie did,
I saw this and fell in love with the colours and the big bow.This is the first layout class i have ever done apart from the odd one at camp.
I am the little one at the front that looks like a boy lol,i had tight curls and red hair when i was little,behind me and to the right is my sister Philly and on her right is the eldest of us girls Jennette,don't know where my brother was,the other kids are the neighbours.

I showed this photo to a few people and asked them to pick me...... no one did hahaha.

Any way if your with in reach of the shop and wont to do some of your very old photos i recommend going to Nickie's classes,she is a very creative lady,there is one a month so keep ya eye out.

Well i managed to get to SBS`s Friday night crop again,its been ages since iv been,I'm always
totally buggered by Friday or working on Saturday.This is the layout i did with the challenge papers we were given,it was nice to see every one and be in amongst the scrappy action again.I was very lucky to,i won 2 draws lol,must have been my lucky night,which was really neat It was great to see so many new faces to,and as always we had lots of laughs.

I got some new photos of Kale tonight and i found

myself smiling as i scrolled through them.

Hes growing so fast,iv never meet a child that

smiles and giggles as much as this little guy,

even though he hadn't seen me for months i

got big beaming smiles when i went over last

weekend

and those eyes are always wide and alert.

Hes even having swimming lessons,and yes in case

you don't know (like me) the beads around his

neck are teething beads lol i asked liv why

she had put beads on him!!!! as i haven't seen

these before,guess I'm a little out of touch.
